It is a table grape variety originating from California (USA). Developed by the University of California in the 1980s, it quickly spread to many grape-producing regions around the world. Today, it is widely produced, particularly in countries such as the US, Chile, Peru, Turkey, Italy, China, and Australia. Its large, round berries make it a distinctive feature among table grapes. Its berries are reddish-pink in color and have quite thick skins. It is a seeded grape variety with a long shelf life.
