Sultaniye grapes (Vitis vinifera) are an important grape variety with a history spanning thousands of years, originating in the Middle East and Western Asia. Most commonly cultivated in the Aegean Region, particularly Manisa and Denizli, they are known worldwide for both fresh consumption and the production of seedless raisins (raisins) by drying.
Sultaniye grapes, which spread from Anatolia to Europe during the Ottoman period, are now one of Turkey's most important exports, valuable both as table grapes and in the winemaking sector. They are the most widely consumed and recognized variety of seedless grapes, and Türkiye is a world leader in this field.
